Account Manager (Hybrid – Remote + In-Person)

Location: Southeast (Hybrid – remote with required travel to Ambit Headquarters, schools, trade shows, and customer sites)

As we continue expanding beyond K-12 into the commercial market, we’re seeking an Account Manager who’s ready to help drive new business while strengthening long-term partnerships with school districts across the region.

Role Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for developing new business opportunities while also managing and growing assigned existing K-12 accounts. You will build trusted relationships with district IT directors, understand their communication needs, and guide them toward solutions such as:

  • IP Intercom systems

  • SIP Trunking

  • VoIP & UCaaS

  • Emergency communication systems

  • E911 & Ray Baum’s Act compliance

This role blends sales, relationship management, and light project coordination. Technical expertise is not required—we will train you thoroughly on Ambit’s systems.

Account Growth & New Business

 

  • Identify new business opportunities within assigned regions

  • Introduce customers to value-added services (IP Intercom, SIP Trunking, UCaaS, etc.)

  • Conduct discovery calls and onsite walkthroughs

  • Prepare proposals, bids, and presentations

  • Maintain accurate sales updates in the CRM

Customer Relationship Management

 

  • Manage ongoing relationships with assigned K-12 customers

  • Conduct periodic account reviews

  • Serve as the primary point of communication for decision-makers

  • Support customers through E911, Ray Baum’s Act, and compliance requirements

  • Track renewals and contract timelines

Cross-Department Collaboration

 

  • Coordinate with engineering and support teams during pre-sales and post-sales

  • Support the lifecycle after project go-live

  • Participate in internal sales meetings and forecasting

Representation & Events

 

  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and regional events representing Ambit

  • Build Ambit’s presence and reputation through relational, service-oriented engagement

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • High accountability, follow-through, and attention to detail

  • Entrepreneurial, problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally

Helpful but not required:

  • Telecom experience

  • K-12 experience

  • Customer success

  • Project management

  • IT or networking familiarity
